Born and bred in Rugby, Cox identified a gap in the market and has created a range of stylish clocks, placemats, coasters, plaques, trophies and key fobs. All the products come from reclaimed materials which are all locally sourced, and are all made in and distributed from Rugby.
Original Rugby will officially be launched on Friday 18th September to coincide with the opening day of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Speaking about the launch of Original Rugby, David said “There are many rugby football-based memorabilia items available, but nothing actually made and originating from where the game of rugby was first born: here in Rugby.
E-commerce on the way
The Original Rugby website is a WordPress powered website which uses an extensively customised commercially available theme. The current website also features a form calculator for simple online ordering of standard products that prices up standard orders of multiple items and emails the details to the sales administrators.
This will be replaced in the future by full e-commerce shopping carts using the Woo Commerce plugin for WordPress.
