We’re pleased to announce the launch of our first mobile app development for Rugby taxi company Dial-a-Cab. The app is currently available for Android devices only on Google Play, although we’re working on a version for the iTunes app store for iPhones.
Dial-a-Cab is an established taxi company in Rugby who have been operating for over 10 years. They provide a friendly and reliable service for all types of taxi journeys including Rugby station transfers, airport travel, nights out, wedding transport and company transfers.
Website update prompts mobile app development
We recently updated their website to a responsive web design so it can be used on Mobiles and Tablets as well as Desktop PCs and Laptops. The booking form on the website is very important. It allows users to select a pick-up location, destination and Date and Time for a quote or advanced booking. The form works well with mobiles and tablets and we have seen a big upturn in the number of bookings. Unsurprisingly, there are also much higher levels of usage from people using mobiles and tablets.
We tried to take a very straightforward approach to the app as it should cater for spontaneous bookings as well as planned journeys. The app does the following:
- Click to call – there’s a big button inviting users to call Dial-a-Cab. Click this and you call Dial-a-Cab directly without needing to save the number in your contacts list. We had in mind the person getting out of their train late at night, perhaps a little worse for drink, being able to call Dial-a-Cab direct from the app without needing to save the number in contacts.
- Book in Advance or Quote – this launches the website, which is a responsive web design so works perfectly on a mobile or tablet.
…and that’s it. We looked at other options for functionality but the app does everything the client need it do without any unnecessary features. As we look at patterns of usage and other statistics, I’m sure additional features will be suggest themselves but this gets Dial-a-Cab into Google Play app store alongside Uber etc.
Where to find the Dial-a-Cab mobile app
The Dial-a-Cab mobile app is free and can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play app store. Just search for Rugby taxis, Dial a Cab or Rugby taxi and you’ll find it.
At the time of writing it has had its first five star review and it’s not even from anyone we know!
If you want to book a taxi or get a quote for a Rugby taxi go direct to the main Dial-a-Cab website at Rugby taxis.
