- Do you need existing email archive accounts migrated to the new email accounts.
- What devices do you wish to use to read and reply to emails e.g. PCs, laptops, phones and tablets.
- What devices are using e.g. Windows or Mac or a mixture of both?
- Do you need additional features and apps like online meetings (e.g. Microsoft Teams of Zoho Meetings) file back-up and file-sharing.
- Do you need additional business software like Office 365 or Zoho products like Word, Excel etc.
Domain name buying advice
We have an earlier more detailed blog post (Choosing a domain name – exact match domains or brand), but here are quick tips for buying a domain for your business emails.
You may already have a domain name but if you haven’t then this a crucial step. The domain name for your emails should reflect the trading name of your company. This may or may not be registered name of your business, or it it might be a brand name or specific product name.
- It should be memorable and easy to spell.
- The name should be easy to say and understandable in normal speech.
- Top level domains (the bit after domain name) can be .com, .co.uk, .org, .org.uk, .biz, .ai, .shop etc
- Make sure you buy as many variations of your chosen domain as you can afford.
- If your desired domain is taken, then there are ways of getting ownership but this is usually and extra cost.
- Keep careful records of where and who you buy the domain name from.
